Salt Lake Express Sun Valley

Salt Lake Express Travel Bucket List

The Salt Lake Express is not simply a shuttle. Yes, it is a convenient way to get to from point A to point B. Yes, they offer you WiFi, water, and comfortable seats. However, the Salt Lake Express also allows you to experience places that you never knew existed or never dreamed of visiting. With nearly 100 stops across six different states, there are a lot of trips you can take and a lot of memories you can make. So let’s check out just a few of the many places you can visit.

Salt Lake Express Travel

A Few Places We Stop

Sun Valley

In the middle of the Sawtooth National Forest and Challis National Forests is a town called Sun Valley which is the first stop on our tour. Sun Valley, Idaho is known for its famous Sun Valley Resort. In the winters the mountain and lodge is filled with snowboarders and skiers. With 18 lifts on bald mountain and 4 more on dollar mountain, people are left with several options for runs both easy and challenging.

Salt Lake Express Sun Valley

In the summers, however, the mountain changes completely. The wildflowers color the mountain and line the trails for hikers and horseback riders. There are people camping and fishing and enjoying the warm weather. But the Resort is not all that makes Sun Valley such a great destination. In the city of Ketchum there are museums and shops for people to visit as well as events throughout the year. There is an art festival July 10-12 that includes art booths, live music, and food. The Tour de Force is July 23-25 where up to 200 cars gather for admiring and then a high speed race to finish off the week. You can also go visit the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve for some star gazing and astronomy. After you visit Sun Valley take a trip farther south and see what else Idaho has to offer.

Jerome

An hour and a half south of Sun Valley and just north of Twin Falls is a little town called Jerome. The area, although small in population, is exploding with activities and memories just waiting to be made. Country scenery with plenty of different hikes and adventures. The most famous activity in Jerome is the County Fair. It will be held on August 10-15 this year (2020) and will include a rodeo, live concert, fair food, and fun. Outside of the events and small town experiences are beautiful hikes and wildlife. The following is just a small list of hikes in and near Jerome County.

  • Perrine Bridge
  • Wilson Butte Cave
  • Devils Coral
  • Minidoka National Historic Site
  • Cauldron Linn
  • Pillar Falls
  • Shoshone Falls
  • Snake River Canyons Park
  • Miracle and Banbury Hot Springs – Buhl ID
  • Shoshone Ice Caves – Shoshone ID
  • Shoshone Falls – Kimberly ID
  • Thousand Springs – Hagerman ID
  • Balanced Rock – Glenns Ferry

Cedar City

If you keep traveling south you will come to beautiful Cedar City, Utah. Cedar City is famous for their tony-award winning, Shakespear festival in the summers. During the summer months there are numerous fun events. On Wednesdays from July through October the city of cedar hosts an open-air farmers market with locally grown produce, art, and handmade crafts. In July they host the Midsummer Renaissance Faire as well as the Jamboree car show. The Championship Rodeo is one month later in June. And in October there is the Cedar Live and Heritage Festival.

They also have attractions that are available year round. In the mid 1800s, the pioneers settled Utah. They found iron in Cedar City and sent volunteers to settle the area. Hundreds of years later we have the Frontier Homestead State Park to commemorate those settlers. The park offers several activities and displays for people and families to enjoy. Cedar Breaks National Monument is another beautiful site to see. It includes a dense forest of trees against the bright red and orange colored rock. The Coal Creek Parkway Trail is perfect for hiking. It features coal creek, underpass trail, gold medal mile walk, and more

Las Vegas

Even further down south we have arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada, the city that never sleeps. Las Vegas is full of life and a place where you will never be bored. The Las Vegas Strip is the perfect place to party. Vegas has several amazing places to stay, but the Bellagio Hotel and Casino is one of the highest recommended places to stay. While you enjoy the hype of the city do not miss out of the live music and comedy shows. They have new people every night to keep you entertained. The Adventuredome Theme Park is right in the heart of the city and is a perfect place for kids and adults to enjoy the thrill of the rides. It is also a great place to experience different foods from a variety of cultures.

Many, however, miss the beauty just outside of the city. If you travel just beyond the city, you will find mountains and canyons that will blow your mind away. If this is more your scene, carve out some time for Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the Historic Railroad Hiking Trail, Gypsum Cave, and Ice Box Canyon. You can enjoy hikes or rock climbing or even ziplining over Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon. If you want to see all of this beauty from farther above, take a hot air balloon tour.

Locations Farther Out

The Salt Lake Express transports you to locations all over Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and Montana, as well as additional locations in Arizona and Wyoming. If these locations are not enough for your adventurous lifestyle then we suggest catching the Salt Lake Express to the nearest airport and traveling from there. The shuttle makes stops at the Boise, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City airports.

Salt Lake Express Airport

From these airports there are endless places to visit. Take a trip to New York to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, to go shopping, and eat some delicious pizza and street hot dogs. Or you could fly to California to visit Disneyland or learn to surf. Chicago, Pittsburgh, and New Orleans all have tons of history, culture, music, and food. We could make this list a mile long!

No matter where you go, remember that The Salt Lake Express can take you there. We ride in style and offer comfort, safety, and kindness your whole way there.

Travel Apps for St George Express

Travel Apps to Download for Your Road Trip

After writing Travel Tips For The Ultimate Road Warrior, we realized we could do a whole separate piece just about helpful travel apps to download before hitting the road.

So if you’re planning a road trip this summer, or you know you’ll be driving your way back to Rexburg, make sure you try these travel apps and let us know your experience.

GasBuddy

If you’re driving instead of flying, you’re probably trying to save some money. So why not save on gas too? GasBuddy is a mobile app that shows users all of the available gas options nearby and their prices. The app works based on user reports, and GasBuddy rewards users for updating a station’s prices. If you earn enough points, you can enter raffles for prizes, like free gas.

iExit

Think about all the reasons you might need to make a quick pitstop — that’s exactly what iExit is for. Need a nap? Need to grab some snacks? Need to get some cash from an ATM? iExit helps you see what businesses and facilities are coming up on your route and what exit you need to take to get there. The app also lets you search for specific businesses or perks so if you’re looking for Taco Bell, it’ll help you find the closest one. If you’re looking for Wi-Fi or a campground, it can help you find those too.

Google Maps

While there are countless navigation apps that you could use for mapping your trip, Google Maps is easily one of the most functional and simplistic to use. It offers turn-by-turn directions specific to your mode of transportation, so even if you’re riding a bicycle for part of your trip, it’ll get you where you need to go. You can also add multiple destinations if your plan is to hit several locations in succession. Maps also lets you know when places with strict hours of operation close and checks to see if the route you’re taking includes tolls.

Spotify

Road trips, especially cross-country hauls, are a great reason to catch up on all the music releases you’ve missed since high school. Spotify arguably is the most practical way to control the soundtrack of your journey with on-demand music. Spotify provides curated playlists specifically designed for road trips and an enormous library of artists, bands and podcasts to listen to. The app is free, but if you want to ditch the ads, you might want to consider the $9.99-a-month premium subscription ($4.99 for students). And unless you’ve got unlimited data, make sure you download everything for offline listening.

Flush Toilet Finder

It might seem like a joke to include an app that helps you find and rate public restrooms, but Flush Toilet Finder might be what saves you and your shorts from a nasty gas station porta-potty.  The app uses location sensors to check its database of more than 200,000 toilets worldwide, and even while offline will show you nearby toilets with information about fees, key requirements or handicap access. With the ability to integrate with Google Maps, you can even get specific directions to the restroom of your choice.

Travel apps to accompany you on the road

Obviously, there are countless travel apps that will help you improve your travel experience. Depending on what you’re looking to do, there might be something out there that these apps just can’t do. But these are some of the best for any road trip experience. If you decide to give them a try, or if you find something you like better, let us know. We’re always looking for cool new travel apps.

All of these apps are free to download and can be used on iOS or Android devices.

St George Express is helping you elevate your bus travel experience

How to Elevate Your Bus Travel Experience

Unfortunately, trying to survive the ride to school and back is the only sort of bus travel many people are familiar with. Fortunately, 1985 is long behind us, and whether or not you have a lunchbox no longer determines how many times you’ll get hit in the back of the head by a bully who just discovered spitballs.

Even though we’ve all grown up a little, there are still some quick to-dos to ensure you avoid any unnecessary discomfort when riding the bus. Check out our list of ways to elevate your bus travel experience.

Hand sanitizer

Let’s be honest, other people can be disgusting. Most long-distance bus travel companies provide travelers with multiple opportunities to use the restroom, but may you want to clean up sooner than later.  If you accidentally touch some “ABC” bubblegum under the seat, a travel size bottle of hand sanitizer can be a lifesaver in an otherwise sticky situation.

Snacks

We all get the munchies from time to time. Remembering to bring a bag of chips or a chocolate bar can help soothe that sweet tooth or put off the tummy-grumbles until you reach your final destination.

Tablet (Laptop)

Sometimes looking out the window is all the entertainment you need, but it helps to have other options on long bus rides. Prepping a tablet or laptop with your favorite eBooks, podcasts, TV shows or movies can help you pass the time when you grow tired of looking at corn fields.

Neck pillow

Despite the efforts of everyone at St. George Express, bus travel isn’t always the most comfortable experience. Bringing a travel size pillow can give you just enough cushion to sleep through the entire trip or take a quick power nap.

Battery charger

Most bus travel companies like St. George Express have individual charging outlets on each bus, but bringing a personal battery charger is a smart backup plan. If you’re expecting an important phone call or need to make sure you’re fully charged for your entire trip, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Sweatshirt (blanket)

You never really know if the temperature on the bus will be too hot or too cold. Speaking to the driver of the bus can be a solution but packing a lightweight blanket or a sweatshirt you can quickly throw on will help keep you comfortable if it’s a little chilly on board.

Travel Bag

Last but certainly not least, the one thing that will let you bring all the other things with you. A backpack or travel bag is the perfect way to pack your snacks, tablet, blanket and hand sanitizer, while still keeping your hands free.

You want your trip to go smoothly, and so do we. St. George Express does everything we can to make your experience as positive as possible, but remembering some small personal items can make all the difference.

Las Vegas shuttles

How Las Vegas Shuttles are Changing Travel

Las Vegas shuttles

Chances are when you think of a shuttle company, you probably think about hitching a ride to the airport. Airport buses are definitely a large part of a shuttle company’s business. There is a high demand for convenient and cheap travel to and from the airport. But many Las Vegas shuttles are more than just buses to and from the airport, offering many different benefits to travelers. That is why we believe that Las Vegas Shuttles are changing and improving the local travel industry for the better.

St. George Express has helped customers reach their destinations for over eight years now. In that time we have learned a lot about travel and how to get it right for our customers. As we have merged with other companies, we have seen our fleet grow and routes increase. We are pleased to be serving customers in Las Vegas and many other areas along I-15.

The benefits of using Las Vegas Shuttles

We all know the benefits of catching a shuttle to the airport. You can skip the hassle and cost of parking and the risk of leaving your vehicle unattended in a lot. Not only that, but a shuttle will conveniently deliver you right where you need to be at the airport. But that is only the beginning of the value we can offer our customers. There are a lot of reasons why you might want to charter a bus, whether it is to make a day trip to a nearby city, to visit family or friends, or to get your kid to college. We understand that travel can be a stressful time, and that is why we do everything we can to improve the experience. We get you to where you need to be so that you can relax and just enjoy your trip.

What we are doing to better serve your travel needs

Customer Support

St George Express is dedicated to better serve you. That is why our office is open 24/7. We want to hear from you and help you out in any way we can. Just call us up to a day in advance and we can transfer your ticket to a better departure time. Our office is always open (except Christmas and Thanksgiving, because we aren’t The Grinch) to answer your questions, address your concerns, help coordinate your shuttle times, and do what we can to make your trip the best experience Las Vegas shuttles can provide.

Onboard Services

We are also committed to making sure that our customers have a pleasant and enjoyable trip. That is why we have embraced the modern luxuries technology provides. We offer free Wi-Fi and USB ports so that you can stay connected and charged during your trip, no matter how short or long.

Charter Bus Rentals for Group Transportation - fleet.

Charter Bus Rentals for Group Transportation

We as human beings have a primal desire to fall into groups. We marry, raise families, work in companies, go out with friends, join teams, and go to movie theaters. And sometimes, this desire to pack together not only has social and emotional benefits but logistical as well. It is much easier to move a planeful of people from one country to another than to individually ship them. And at Salt Lake Express, we offer charter bus rentals because we know your need for group transportation.

There are many ways to individually get from point A to point B. But when it comes to moving an entire team or another group of people, options become more limited. Say you’re a baseball team with not only a whole roster of players but a large amount of equipment. Or maybe you’re a church group and you need space for all the food to feed them. Very quickly, a well-intentioned work retreat can turn into a logistical nightmare.

This is where Salt Lake Express can show you what it’s really made of. Just how can we help you transport your group, and whom do we serve? That is what we hope to address.

Charter Bus Rentals for Group Transportation - MCI D-Series

We offer charter bus rentals.

Salt Lake Express is a time-honored shuttle service serving over 100 stops throughout the intermountain west. Spanning from Montana all the way down to Nevada, our route includes numerous popular destinations like Yellowstone, Zion’s National Park, Sun Valley, and Las Vegas. With this blessing of serving such areas comes an inherent responsibility. Millions of people visit these and other spots annually, and most come from outside the region. We are committed to assisting them in their journey.

And more often than not, people make these trips as groups, not just individually. This where the issue of logistics returns. How do you comfortably move a large group of people when there is such limited space, and high demand? The answer lies in charter bus rentals.

With four different bus models in our fleet, we are well-equipped from the beginning to customize your trip to your needs. If you are traveling a longer distance, you can specify that you require a restroom on the bus. Thankfully, each of our buses comes with heating and air conditioning so no matter the weather, you can still comfortable on the bus. Each bus, regardless of the model, also comes with overhead storage and reclining, high-back seats.

Convenience and specific requests come at no extra cost — just identify what you need and we’ll take care of it.

Charter Bus Rentals for Group Transportation - Grech M2 GM40

We offer group transportation.

We and our drivers take group transportation very seriously. The overall success of your trip — and the determinant of future trips like it — largely depends on having the right travel accommodations.

Is everyone comfortable? Is the bus traveling at a safe speed? Have we been living up to the promises we made? These are the questions our drivers ask themselves. We want you to not only be safe and comfortable but to have an overwhelmingly positive charter bus experience.

No matter the group, we provide transportation at an unbeatable group price. Here are just a few of the different groups we provide charter bus rentals for.

Charter Bus Rentals for Group Transportation - M1235

Athletic

We’re coming into the baseball season, which means you’ll need to get your team to state and regional championships in a couple months. But no matter the sport, regardless of the season, we are dedicated to getting you, your team, and your equipment there safely. Our charter bus drivers also sometimes even get into the team spirit and cheer the team on.

School

From field trips to competitions, Salt Lake Express also works with high schools, colleges, and universities. Take your school group on your next educational outing through one of our charter bus rentals.

Corporate

Taking the office on a corporate retreat? Hoping to dress potential future VPs? Take everyone to that placid lake all together on the same bus. Our Gretsch Freightline M2 GM40 is well-equipped for corporate group transportation. With Salt Lake Express’ motto — “Executive Service. Always” — you know on whom you can depend.

Special events

Don’t leave us to define your reason for renting a charter bus from Salt Lake Express…no matter your special event, convention, what-have-you, we are here to serve you and your needs. When receiving a quote for your charter, let us know how we can make your experience an unforgettable one.

Charter Bus Rentals for Group Transportation - Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

We offer the best prices.

Renting a charter bus for group transportation can be expensive. It makes sense; for one rate, you’re moving a large group of people and shuttle companies need to beat their margins.

We understand the logistical need for a charter, however, and we also understand that budget is the first thing on a customer’s mind. If you wish to rent a charter through Salt Lake Express, we will give you a quote and do our best to work within your budget.

In our human desire to be and travel in groups, Salt Lake Express is making it easier to do so with our charter bus rental services.

Whether you are chartering for group transportation for work, school, sports or something else, we take your trip seriously. And with four different models of bus to choose from and several amenities to include, you can start planning your customized charter trip today.

Be sure to follow Salt Lake Express on social media to receive information on promo codes and charter services.
